Hedi Slimane's Celine is one of the most divisive projects in contemporary fashion — and one of the most commercially successful. The Spring 2025 collection maintained its signature: immaculately narrow, immaculately constructed clothes presented with the theatrical precision only Slimane seems capable of sustaining season after season.
The rock-and-roll references were present but restrained — a leather jacket here, a destroyed hem there — while the dominant mood was one of great elegance. The tailoring in the middle section of the show was extraordinary: single-breasted suits in lightweight wool with lapels of almost dangerous narrowness.
Women's pieces showed Slimane at his most persuasive: simple dresses of radical simplicity that relied entirely on the purity of the cut and the quality of the fabric. This is fashion stripped to its absolute essential elements.
